At ScoutIQ, we offer two scouting plans:
- ScoutIQ Live - This plan requires a cell signal or a WiFi connection, and will look up books in live time and return the results directly from Amazon's API. We'll pull eScore from an internet database so you can still access our proprietary data even without a downloaded database. Results take longer to load in Live Mode as compared to Database Mode, so if speed or offline data access are desired, consider the ScoutIQ Database plan instead. All other features, including Smart Triggers, the Scout Lite screen, and the Scan Tracker are included with the ScoutIQ Live plan. You will be required to provide your Amazon MWS credentials to use the Live Mode, which are included at no extra cost for Amazon Professional Seller Accounts.
- ScoutIQ Database - This plan allows you to download the entire ScoutIQ book database to your device and access the data without a cell signal or WiFi connection. The database also speeds up your scouting, returning results about five times faster to your phone's screen. When paired with a Bluetooth barcode scanner, Database Mode allows you to scan books as fast as you can pick them up! All other features are included with the ScoutIQ Database plan, including the ability to do live look-ups if you provide your MWS keys. (MWS credentials are not required if you use the database plan, so if you're not yet ready to sign up for a Professional Selling plan on Amazon, you can still use the database plan.)
Both plans include unlimited scans, and are set up as monthly subscriptions. The Live plan starts at $14/month, and the Database plan starts at $44/month. Discounts are available for pre-payments. Each license is tied to a specific mobile device, and switching devices is only allowed on a limited basis (primarily to account for lost or new phones).

How do I start,keeps saying account inactive

Is there a way to use this app with other types of media items?
Levitt - yes, you can look up anything in live mode with ScoutIQ. Make sure you connect your Amazon account and you'll be good to go!
I can’t open the app
I signed up and logged on but it won’t let me scan books. My Amazon Seller account is logged on so I don’t know what the problem is.

I took a look at the back end of your account and everything seems to be working fine. I'd go ahead and try a few test scans to know for sure. If you still have issues, shoot an email to support@ScoutIQ.co and we can sort through it further.
Something is messed up with my billing. I have had the $44 a month subscription for months with debit to my credit card on file on the 2nd of the month. I was not charged on 9/02/21. then I received a statement on 9/20/21 for $14 minus $2.32 for applied balance whatever that is with a balance due of $11.68. I want to continue to receive the live+data base plan for $44 monthly.

Why do I need MWS to use live version? I use independent seller account rather than the professional

Technically, ScoutIQ is designed for use by Amazon Pro-sellers. Our app relies on Amazon's API to perform live lookups. This can be a Merchant Fulfilled (MF) or Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA) account. If you are currently trialing our "Live Only" ($14/month) subscription-- this product is designed for use by Amazon Pro-Sellers, and will not work for you with an individual account. Our app relies on Amazon's API to perform live lookups.
Long term, if you don't want to sign up for a Pro-Seller account your best bet is to sign up for our "Database + Live Subscription" ($44/month).
You can upgrade during your trial free of charge on our web portal at app.scoutiq.co >>>>>>Account >>>>>> Subscription. Once you have upgraded you will need to go to "Settings" on the app and log out. When you log back in you will have a download database option. You need to download the database when you have a strong, steady, uninterrupted internet connection, and test your download before you go out scouting.
Without an Amazon Pro-Seller account you won't have access to live Amazon information, you will have access to our extensive database of books. If you are scanning with our Live + Database plan and only using the database during your trial, go to "Settings" on your app, and make sure that the Scan Mode is set to "Data Only" and you'll be good to go! Keep in mind our database is only books, and you can only search by ISBN using the database.
